Aquadettes 2026 Handbook

 

 

Jean Zeman

This is Jean’s first year with the Aquadettes. She moved from Washington State to Laguna Woods in 2025 and saw the Aqua Follies. She was impressed by the fitness and dedication of all of the women and wanted to be a part of the magic!

Although her siblings started working with her in the pool when she was just a baby, Jean doesn’t remember learning how to swim; it seemed as if she always knew how. She participated in competitive swimming through high school and was a lifeguard in college but she wasn’t prepared for how difficult Aquadettes practices would be. “These ladies work HARD!” she says. The first few months were more drowning than swimming but eventually things got better. A crushed ankle took her out of the water for a couple of months this winter and has left her with a “lucky fin” foot just like Nemo!

Jean thanks her husband, Tod, and daughter, Bryn, whose support and encouragement helped make her Aquadettes dream a reality.
